Remote Git configuration is very comprehensive, clearly identifying ownership, authorship, and access permissions. Its main function is code editing, allowing you to add new files, write code, or make changes to the branch you're working on. You can also have multiple branches open at once and work on each of them separately. History is stored locally and consumes disk space (instead of at least connecting to the remote server as an option). Other than CLI there's no official supported GUI.
