Out of the blue, we received threatening emails stating that they were going to stop processing our payments and close our account, despite us having done nothing wrong. When we called them to find out what was happening, we were told there was "nothing to worry about", yet they continued sending intimidating emails demanding documents and personal information before they would even discuss the matter with us. The whole experience felt very unprofessional and concerning. As a business, you simply can't afford to have your payment provider putting your company at risk like this. There are plenty of other reputable payment providers available, so we switched immediately. Based on our experience, I would not recommend trusting this company with your business. ----- ### "BEWARE\! We are a small, privately owned veterinary hospital that has spent years serving our community and caring for people's pets. Despite operating a legitimate business with documented transactions, Stripe suddenly withheld and removed nearly $7,000 from our account, placing a significant financial burden on our practice. What makes this situation even worse is the lack of meaningful support. Trying to get answers felt like running into a brick wall. We received generic responses, little transparency, and virtually no accountability while thousands of dollars that our business depended on remained inaccessible. For a small business, $7,000 is not a minor inconvenience. That money pays employees, covers medical supplies, supports patient care, and keeps the doors open. The fact that a company with Stripe's resources can freeze or remove funds while providing inadequate communication is deeply concerning. If you are a small business owner—especially a veterinary clinic, medical practice, or family-owned company—think very carefully before trusting Stripe with your payment processing. Based on our experience, the financial risk is simply too high. We expected a payment processor. Instead, we got stress, uncertainty, and thousands of dollars tied up with little explanation.
