In my opinion DataSnipper is really useful now, everything is great.

Datasnipper is worth it!

Comentários: Datasnipper solves the time problem in audit by eliminating the need to capture support manually and also human error where mistakes are made when documents are captured. These documents are imported and the detail thereon is either extracted or snipped instead of being captured manually by retyping from physical documents. Which saves alot of time and also does not leave juniors stuck on tasks for hours and hours.

Vantagens:

Datasnipper eliminates phantom ticking - one of audit engagements worst threat (the threat that an audit member will state that it is correct without checking the support or substance) Due to the ability of the software to import the support and then allow the manager to check it that what is tested is correct is fantastic. Also significantly reduces capturing errors made by junior staff when capturing a lot of support.

Desvantagens:

Some features are not available and require additional expansion or products to get the use of the functionality. The standard model is great but is not really competing with all the additional features that are available and you are limited to the subscriptions purchased by the organization as a user.

Overall positive but improvements desired

Comentários: Overall the software provided efficiencies in the audit and FS review processes. Though it does not fully provide what we need, the pros outweigh the cons, so we continue to use the software in out day to day audit and FS review processes.

Vantagens:

Reduced the amount of time reviewing financial statements, reduced audit documentation time, and increased efficiency in reviewing audit documentation

Desvantagens:

There were multiple issues identified with the automated results of the financial statement suites, and reduced functionality of some features with the latest version issued made certain aspects of FS review more difficult than in previous versions.

Implementaion process of DataSnipper in our audit firm

Comentários: Implementing the tool was quite easy. The whole DataSnipper-Team is very helpful and has quick response times

Vantagens:

Easy to use; makes life easier for an auditor; allows perfect cross referencing; all documents are collected in one excel-sheet --> very easy to review to work papers

Desvantagens:

Slows down the response times of excel-workbooks due to the embedded documents

The Bottomline: DataSnipper

Comentários: Overall I had a great experience with DataaSnipper, I even took the time to watch other videos to improve my DataaSnipper skills.

Vantagens:

I loved the automated features. It enabled me to complete my detailed testing within an hour and this allowed me to conduct a proper test on all aspects as I didn't have any time constraints. The ability to search for a specific sentence in 100pages and be able to pull the information onto my working papers. The ability to also place validation checks on information where we reviewed is also a major plus.

Desvantagens:

The zoom lesson was a bit too fast, however after watching the recording it was much easier to manage.

It highlights the number I selected in excel, but it does not navigate to that exact field. That functionality using a button will be very helpful

One issue is the high price, which may be prohibitive for small and medium practitioners with low license volumes. Additionally, the pricing structure can be discriminatory towards customers with lower volumes, which can be frustrating.There are also some functional issues that could potentially affect the reliability and accuracy of the tool. For example, the Validation Snip does not actually validate amounts and users may unintentionally mark something as validated when it is not. The Table Snip also has issues when editing rows, which can cause data to be merged incorrectly.Another area for improvement is the lack of formatting options and inability to change general settings of functions, such as font size and color. Additionally, it would be helpful to have the ability to insert audit ticks into imported documents.While the FIND ALL SUMs function is useful, it does not always accurately check the totals when there is a net total, and the SUM Snip may pick up some numbers with a minus sign when they should be positive. Overall, while DS can be a helpful tool for automating audit tasks, users should be aware of these potential issues and weigh them against their specific needs and preferences. DS's use may cause Excel to freeze and it's incompatible with older versions of Office, but doesn't detract from its overall value.

Speeding up audit procedures

Vantagens:

The software is very easy to use and implement. The way that the software helps our audit teams speed up testing and vouching to external documents is amazing. We use the software in all aspects of the audit process and other areas of our practice. Glad we found this product!!!

Desvantagens:

We have not come across any cons to using the software yet.

Reviewing Audit Workpapers

Vantagens:

Most impactful feature for me is DataSnipper can show where the numbers/words come from. This is critical when I review audit workpapers prepared by my staff. By this function, I don’t need to search tickmarks put in the evidence documents.Also, DataSnipper is intuitive to use, so it's easy to teach staff how to use it.

Desvantagens:

Table Snip is a powerful feature, but I think it could be better.If there is an option like Text snip that can indicate where the numbers and strings are coming from, work efficiency will be greatly improved. Currently I achieve this with a combination of Table Snip and Document Matching, but I wish Table Snip could do it in one shot.

Great software!

Vantagens:

Easy to use across all situations and software's, and very fluid to use day to day, in particular my role creating working papers.

Desvantagens:

Nothing to note, datasnipper does exactly what is expected of it

Highly Recommended to use for audit work

Comentários: Very good experience! Easy to get on hands quickly and straightforward. It does not require an extensive trainings or advanced IT skills to be able to use it. It is so simple but so efficient to use.

Vantagens:

It is highly efficient to use for making cross references for test work, matching documents, reconciliation and financial statement process in audit procedures. Good text recognition!

Desvantagens:

1. The table recognition function could be enhanced, especially when the table is in two pages of one pdf. There are occasions that the recognition would miss a line near the broken page.2. Text recognition for long paragraphs now show in one cell, would be great if it does the formatting directly as well. But this is minor issue.

Amazing tool-Data Snipper

Comentários: I Love data snipper and would be recommending it to all colleagues and friends.

Vantagens:

Data snipper helped avoid manually entering data and it reduced the time to 1/10th of what it took originally and also eliminate any human errors.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes table snip can throw the formatting a bit off. Apart from that there's nothing that comes to mind so far.

Comentários: Great so far, a great time saver and accuracy checker for the team

Vantagens:

The internal consistency check and PY figures check - very quick and useful for checking for errors and more accurate than a manual review

Desvantagens:

The export of version comparison - It is not so easy to review when exported into excel. The export of the PY comparison checker is a lot more useful. The casting of sums is also inconsistent. Sometimes it does not recognise columns with totals casted sideways across the page.

Efficient Data Snipper

Vantagens:

It makes vouching for invoices and supporting easier. It makes review much easier since you can see the snip and actual amount updated.

Desvantagens:

Not much experienced in DataSnipper yet so don't know yet.

DataSnipper at JPA Romania

Vantagens:

DataSnipper greatly increases efficiency and productivity during the audit work, reducing significantly the time needed to perform repetitive tasks.

Desvantagens:

Very rarely, the app is not able to correctly identify the characters when the writing on the documents is in cursive.

Extremely helpful

Vantagens:

It is convenient to not have to go through any process to link documents to excel. Datasnipper makes it easy to bring in documents, pull information out of those documents, while linking that information to the exact place you found it. Extremely helpful for audits.

Desvantagens:

The process of deleting snips is a little tedious and can be frustrating when it looks like the snip has been deleted, but the link still seems to be present.

Ease of data extraction since I'm in tax and i deal with alot of data i.e GST it provides a way to extract data from pdf to excel with ease saving me valuable time
