We have owned and used this software extensively since 2012.

Vantagens:

Standardization. We were doing a lot of process work through excel, word, email, etc. This forced us to standardize how we operated and gave our clients a consistent experience over multiple projects. Job costing is capable of being more accurate than we need.

Desvantagens:

Lack of significant improvements to the software given the annual support and maintenance amount paid. Features tend to be minor with more significant improvements coming in the form of additional optional products for purchase.

Sage 300

Comentários: Overall the program is satisfactory.

Vantagens:

The modules are easy to use . The screens are easy to navigate and they are user friendly. there is excellent audit tracing for each module.

Desvantagens:

The reports are minimal. The more useful reports require you to purchase a separate license for Sage intelligence which is very expensive. the stock reports require another software program (Crystal reports ) in order to modify them. The set up screens for the customer and vendor screen do not allow for more than one email address which reduces the ability to email directly from Sage. The payroll module does not email EFT check reports to employees. You have to buy another program in order to do this (Print Boss). Overall there is a hefty price tag to purchase all the modules and add on programs to use. If you can stay with Simply, then you should.

Comentários: We were trying to address the issue of going green meaning working in a paperless environment.
We benefit in many ways as we had reduced on stationery cost, and work become faster as processes were integrated in the systems.
It still requires improvement and the environment in which it works does not fully support or become compatible with local Vendors.
The advice I would give to others is that they need careful planning so that they only ask for installation of packages suitable for their environment.

Vantagens:

It automates manual work of processing purchase orders and eliminates physical postage of paper documents to third party (Suppliers). It integrates separate pieces of transactions into one, making work easy and shorten the overall time spent on processing one simple transaction e.g. Purchase requisition is generated by someone else then converted into a purchase order without altering many details. The system is able to make basic or advanced calculations of cost and taxes hence eliminating the burden of errors and omissions.

Desvantagens:

It is somehow expensive to run as it requires a perpetual subscription to be made. It is a system that cannot just be installed on the PC for a lifetime. Room for improvement is still available because it has a lot of steps (clicking is too much). We could not achieve the go-green aim as most of the time we were printing out physical copies of contracts as the environment in which we used the system did not have many vendors connected to the internet.

Connection from the cloud server where Sage is hosted to workstation is smooth.

Desvantagens:

2factor authentication should be enforced to login on the client side

It account principles are sound. It is fairly ease to use.

Desvantagens:

Clumsy to Use. Needs to be re written to be true cloud software.

Sage300 and why you should use it

Comentários: We use it as our basic accounting package for dealing with all of our vendors and all of our clients.

Vantagens:

It has all of the basic features of a full accounting system including AP, GL, AR, Sales order, Inventory mgmt.

Desvantagens:

Customization is not simple to do. It is not simple to add new forms or understand the table structures. Table names are very short and obsure.

Vantagens:

It is a cloud business management software combined numerous function. In other words it cans be called a Total business management software because it can handle the inventory management, financial management such as paying salary, management of inputs and outputs, bills management. Finally it can produce a report of the activity anytime and the different statistics.

Desvantagens:

It should be set by a trained used tu take in to considering Anny important details of the business. Out of this it is a complete clouds base business management software

3 years of difficulties and workarounds

Vantagens:

It was easy to navigate and creating custom dashboards was helpful for the majority of our users and their roles.

Desvantagens:

There was so much. The database was a mess as far as naming conventions. Costing was not uniform across the platform. We had selected Standard cost for the whole system then later found out that many of our transactions were using weighted moving average to calculate cost anyway and that we could not change it. We had to add so many third party modules and workarounds. We are selecting a new ERP.

Easy to use and train new staff. One software has so many modules options.

Desvantagens:

too many updates to download from time to time. discontinued support version too frequent.

Vantagens:

Strong Data entry features - Sales order, ICT, AR, AP Customer Inquiry reports drill down - flexible

Desvantagens:

Negative stock quantity can be entered at order detail line and goes undetected so long as the order total remains positive Lack of restriction on Stock Warehouse selection during Order Processing-- There is l no control in place to restrict users to access stocks in specific system warehouse that they are assigned. A user can receive, transfer, sell stock in any warehouse in the system without any restriction How to handle PO Cancellations not available Reporting (supplier activity reports) not detailed as like provided in Accounts Receivable Difficulty is posting of Discount allowed to customers into General Ledger Suppliers Inquiry reports drill down -NOT flexible

Unfortunate Decision

Comentários: There has really been no benefit and I greatly regret sticking with SAGE vs looking at other options.

Vantagens:

The reason we went with SAGE was we had purchased a business with an existing, but badly outdated system. Features we like are the access to historical data. Processing receivables and payables is simple and quick. Fully integrates our inventory and order processing systems.

Desvantagens:

Very cumbersome, entering new accounts, updating price list very tedious. The licensing fee is exorbitant. Reports modules are the worst I have ever seen. Requires expensive consultant support in order to customize what should be readily available reports.

How Sage 300 Help us in Daily basis

Comentários: Sage 300 can improve its integration process with Microsoft products as well as Procore

Vantagens:

Reporting tool help us to understand day by day how is our company working. With business intelligence we can explain to our principals how their investment in working. The tax reporting calculates directly in the currency source doing very easy our account work

Desvantagens:

Sometimes when we try to edit data the program tends to be so slow that makes terrible do our simple job. When you try to get support from the support team, the process is archaic and not effective.

Easy to navigate and understand, good for a medium size company where pastel is to small.

Vantagens:

We have quite a complex business and as such required alot of custom setup luckily we had a very good company called Devote who could assist us with it. Being able to work anywhere at any time with a central server and handle the number of transactions with our reporting requirements is very handy.

Desvantagens:

The batch system can be frustrating at times if someone incorrectly deletes a batch. The crystal reporting system can also be hard to work with but if you intelligence reporter its fine.

Sage 300 Premium (2018) with Inventory and Job Costing

Comentários: Would love to change to something more modern with better job costing and reporting capabilities.

Vantagens:

Like driving a jeep - usually gets you where you need to go, but not elegantly.

Desvantagens:

Poor integration of modules (lots of posting and reposting batches). Not at all a modern feel. Job costing is horrendously complicated and very difficult to keep reconciled. Reporting is antiquated and completely inadequate. Surprising for such an old program. Feels like an upgrade from a DOS version.

Sage 300

Vantagens:

We use the General Ledger/ Accounts Payable & Purchasing / Asset Management modules of the Sage 300 product and everyone in are organization that works with this product responds on how easy it is to work through. My favorite part is the transfer of data to excel for reconciliations and reporting.

Desvantagens:

have not found anything that we do not like yet.

Vantagens:

Easy of use with numerous business types.

Desvantagens:

Changes are needed to save time in data input. The software should retain the vendor code when entering invoices in accounts payable. You have to reenter the vendor code each time a group of invoices are entered for the same vendor. You are only able to pay 14 invoices to a single vendor with one check.

Vantagens:

Sage 300Cloud is a robust system that can be tailored to your current business needs. As your business/staff grows additional modules and licenses may be added to suite your needed.

Desvantagens:

the enhanced reporting features aren't quite user friendly.

Comentários: More detail reporting. Also the ability to personalize the reporting to the property and company.
Bank Reconciliation is quicker. JE are easier to use.

Vantagens:

I like the idea that the Software can grow with our company. After a short learning curb I am able to create reports that are needed with little assistance. With Acumen assistance it was a pleasant change from our previous software. Many things are just easier to get done in less time. Bank Reconciliation is a major factor.

Desvantagens:

It took a a couple of months for our staff to feel comfortable with the change. Looking for information in reports and understanding the software. But once they got over the change all has been smooth.

Sage 300 - More than just a software

Vantagens:

Sage has been our go-to software for accounting and financials for the last 10+ years. The updates that came with 300-cloud are incredibly efficient and easy to use.

Desvantagens:

The layout and feel is very dated. An update to the look would make a huge difference, especially with the younger-users.

Good accounting package with lots of easy to use excellent features

Vantagens:

Ease of use, lots of good features, simple reporting works very well. For the price it tracks job costing very well.

Desvantagens:

We have tried some of the new features such as business intelligence. We have ran into issues that do not seem to have easy solutions. I would wait until it has been up and running for a couple of years next time.

Comentários: Overall it's been easy to use, get help from our Central office if there's any issues.

Vantagens:

It is Cloud based, easy to use. the features it has on saving documents and search feature that has been installed for future use and record keeping.

Desvantagens:

Haven't used long enough to identify any upgrades to this

Comentários: Overall experience with Sage was awesome. We got what we paid.

Vantagens:

The Intelligence reporting was very useful specially consolidating multiple company financial statements

Desvantagens:

The Bank Services module which requires a third party app to upload bank statements

Comentários: Very good and helpful specially for generating custom reports. Functions good with MISys although fragile with MISys version 6.4.3.3

Vantagens:

Integrates good with MISys, Order entries, reports generation works fine.

Desvantagens:

Fragile with MISys version 6.4.3.3, not sure MISys issue or Sage's.

The Perfect ERP

Vantagens:

I like how it makes the entire business cycle seamless. It is also really good at integrating with many available options.

Desvantagens:

It can take a while to learn the various aspects of the program, but once you do it is amazing.
