Best of the best, but you pay for it

Comentários: I continue to use the software at home and recommend to anyone out there to include Webroot in their list of vendors to evaluate. Do not let the technology get to you. Just because the software does something different than what you are used to, try it out before disregarding Webroot as a solution. We found Webroot easy to deploy with a light footprint which more than made up for the additional cost.

Vantagens:

Webroot does an amazing job of removing and detecting threats to computers. We also found it very simple to install with a very light footprint on the computer. Users never complained about computer slow downs due to virus scans when we had Webroot deployed.

Desvantagens:

We faced two issues with Webroot. Their technology is impressive, but complicated. We never were able to really wrap our heads around how their technology worked compared to other antivirus / antispyware solutions, but it did work, and was quite successful at it. The other concern with Webroot was its price. It is the best software out there we have found for computer protection but it is among the most costly.

Simple, light weight, and effective antivirus

Comentários: We were a large enough deployment that we had assistance in our initial installation from a Webroot Engineer to setup the different policies for workstations, servers, and remote desktop servers. The understanding of the setting in the policies and having someone guide us to making the right decisions was key to making sure that we were protected and that Webroot did have any performance impact especially on our servers.

Vantagens:

We use the software daily and find that it is easy to use and do not get any complaints from users about it slowing down their systems. Deployment and licensing is simple and can be done by sending an email with a link, group policy, or manual installation. We get alerts in near real time of any threats found and while we sometimes have to do additional remediation we have not had a serious outbreak.

Desvantagens:

We get false positives around generic Trojans that need to be whitelisted. The whitelisting of programs in by the MD5 hash of the files contained in the programs. The method for identifying and whitelisting the MD5 hash of files in the programs is not intuitive and is done by what Webroot sees as unidentified files. Since Webroot does not have the traditional whitelist a folder so it doesn't scan the folder for viruses that other AV systems use we are often having to explain and butt heads with software vendors who blame the AV for issues. Technical support is knowledgeable, but we had issues getting a hold of technical support and response to tickets is often 24 - 48 hours.

Not the best option in this space now - Unable to fix problem after almost a year

Comentários: Again, the product worked great for us for many years and ran quite smoothly. Unfortunately, once we ran into issues, their support essentially threw their hands up and said they can't get this updated or fixed unless it's affecting more customers, and by the end, they essentially just wanted us to leave so they didn't have to deal with our issues anymore. I believe the company has grown beyond its means and is now focused on large clients only, and doesn't have the resources, ability or support to assist with smaller companies with dedicated issues anymore

Vantagens:

Webroot worked great for our company for monitoring incoming threats for several years, before everything fell apart.

Desvantagens:

Unfortunately, our last year or so with them was fraught with constant issues that Webroot was unable or unwilling to resolve. At one point, they admitted there was an issue with their software causing it, but it was unlikely the code developers would look into fixing this since we were small time and it wasn't a widespread issue. Their support team eventually gave up trying to assist us after many hours of issues and different support individuals (Several who were quite combatative and unhelpful). We moved to WINDOWS DEFENDER FOR BUSINESS and couldn't be happier with the service and ease of use provided

Excellent Antivirus software

Comentários: My overall experience has been positive, I have no issues with this product and I use it for all of my customer which is almost 100 at this time.

Vantagens:

Simple interface, easy to use, no update necessary, streaming definition, easy to install, and takes seconds to deploy

Desvantagens:

I wish the firewall was more advance and has more customization, I believe they need to work on this.

Clear Winner in a Crowded Field of Protection

Comentários: Overall it is very easy to find antivirus protection but when it comes to minimal false negatives and no resource hogging clients this is the clear winner.

Vantagens:

Webroot is a thin, non-system resource intensive anti-virus and malware protection suite. We have tried countless renditions of protection but none offer the amount of protection and ease of use as Webroot. We deploy the client from the web panel and each user is managed in groups with group policies set within our management console. All viruses, malware, and other threats are reported and handled by the client and admins are notified of the threat. The good thing is that the deployment talks to our cloud based management whenever internet is accessed. Users can't disable the client either without our administrative overview.

Desvantagens:

The only con I can see is we have had a couple clients that appeared twice in the management and with no rhyme or reason. This was fixed by removing both an reinstalling the client on those particular clients. The good news is that it only happened once or twice.

WebRoot review

Vantagens:

Worked quite well, quiet / behind the scenes. Not a lot of false positives and don't recall ever a case where it didn't catch malware.

Desvantagens:

WebRoot was deployed by our IT services provider and they set up all the controls / restrictions so unsure if limits were inherent in the system or imposed by our provider. Still, users had what they needed; i.e., it would scan in the background, take action as needed, and users could trigger a scan if they needed.

Webroot found the virus & kept my computer protected well !!

Comentários: I used many computer security companies but Webroot overall gave me and my friends our monies worth in virus protection alone. Almost everyone I suggested Webroot to bought & installed it, they were quite impressed at how much better their computers & other devices ran so much smoother.

Vantagens:

The first initial scan found a virus that another security software couldn't detect. I also like how I and my friends could use this software on multiple devices for free.

Desvantagens:

The price escalating about ten dollars or more per year subscription but still a great value. The password protection needs to be more user-friendly.

Webroot helps ease the mind about endpoint security. Great software.

Vantagens:

Webroot is very easy to install and manage. Virus signatures are updated in real time automatically through their cloud based signature platform. Very good software and great value.

Desvantagens:

There really are no cons to Webroot. Easy for users and administrators. We have also never had any issues, so thank you Webroot.

Webroot Business Endpoint a cheap alternative for small companies

Comentários: Deployed to a small client site as a proof of concept and so far hey are happy

Vantagens:

Small agent size and can distributed via a prepacked agent and download via Link

Desvantagens:

Lacks in some more advanced features and support from local distributor is terrible

Webroot is an amazing product!

Vantagens:

This thing works great and is extremely easy to use. It really helps us to mitigate security threats.

Desvantagens:

VERY rarely, this software has missed a potential threat. But I need to emphasize this has been VERY rare.

Webroot, a powerful antivirus to keep your computer safe.

Comentários: Currently I am administrator of a Webroot console in which I have the management of several organizations and it has been a good experience when you compare the behavior of the endpoint in different equipment, complies with that is due to find threats, generate reports and prepare exceptions. In the latter the exceptions merit a little time to get more out of it, it is not easy to elaborate them if you do not have knowledge of how Webroot works. The deployment of commands facilitates progress to perform some activities.

Vantagens:

I have been working with Webroot for more than 2 years and has covered part of our needs. Your database is kept up to date for any threat, the management of the console is attractive and the documentation is very helpful. The control of policies is worth highlighting because if you have a large organization you can set parameters for different sectors and with different configurations that are very useful, even the notifications via email for the followers of the console serves as support.

Desvantagens:

Webroot has many nice things in its projection as antivirus, but has some things to adjust, for example the generation of report endpoints without updating after a certain time. In mobile devices I have had little experience but it has happened that the update must be done manually. I think they should improve it.

Solid Anti Virus

Vantagens:

The installation package is very small, installs very quickly, and is easy to keep up to date. They just recently rolled out a new management console which is a welcome upgrade to the previous interface. I also like the ability to group my endpoints by location and apply different antivirus policies as needed without touching the actual machine or even remote desktop.

Desvantagens:

If you deactivate an endpoint it does not remove it from your account, it goes into a "deactivated endpoints" group, which can be confusing if you are new to Webroot.

Lightweight antivirus solution should be part of your security stance

Comentários: We needed a lighter-weight AV solution. The solution we switched from consumed a lot of RAM at times and we could not quite figure out why even with vendor support and KB articles. We coupled WebRoot with another AV and did so at reduced cost.

Vantagens:

Low system resource utilization. Reliable client. Excellent Admin console. No management server to maintain.

Desvantagens:

It seems to duplicate registered machines randomly. We'd sort by machine name and find duplicates which count against your license quota. We'd have to disable the machine with the older file update version.

Cost effective Antivirus Software

Comentários: Overall I like Webroot. I had a lot of problems with other antivirus software causing some programs not to function properly so I will continue using Webroot for now.

Vantagens:

The software is easy to use and seems to do a thorough job of scanning all files. I haven't had any virus infections since installing the software. It's easy to navigate through the different functions and set up specific parameters.

Desvantagens:

There are some programs that Webroot blocks and will not let me access. This has caused me to have to access these programs on a laptop instead of the desktop it's installed on which is cumbersome. I think it's a firewall issue but I haven't found a work around yet.

Easy to use software that does not slow down your PC

Comentários: Overall it is easy to use, scan quickly and protects my PC

Vantagens:

It is very easy to install and use. Running a full system scan is also very fast. I like that it does not slow down my PC and the protection seems pretty good. It also has a good price as compared to some of the other protection software products.

Desvantagens:

I have had the software for some time and in a few of the earlier versions it did not protect as well against malware so I did have a bit of trouble. But in recent years it has been improved. Currently I use it with Malwarebytes and have had good luck with the two.

Webroot Works!!

Comentários: I received this product as a trial when I purchased my computer. At first I was only planning to use the trial and then try another software that I was familiar with. However during that trial I had no issues with viruses or my computer slowing down. I had a great experience with this software. It is affordable and reliable.

Vantagens:

Did exactly what it was made to do. I had no issues with my computer. Made me stay past the trial phrase.

Desvantagens:

While using this software I honestly didn’t have anything I didn’t like about it.

Lightweight, feature packed endpoint protection

Comentários: We moved from a different vendor to Webroot SecureAnywhere. The other solution was much more CPU intensive (in a virtualized enviroment this was noticable). Even with little tweaking, the performance of Webroot was at least similar, while the footprint is much smaller.

Vantagens:

The software is easy to configure using a web interface. The software on the client takes up little resources. Compared to other vendors that need multiple servers to manage endpoints and do scanning offloading, this is much easier to operate - and the price is very friendly.

Desvantagens:

We had some issues with add-ons that got installed in browsers, which we do not want. We have other security solutions in place to scan internet traffic. We are working with Support to get these uninstalled, but it takes more time than we expected.

Why i choose Webroot over other antiviruses

Comentários: Webroot is a all around simple antivirus that keeps all your devices safe from harmful files and viruses. You can cover up to 5 devices under one membership

Vantagens:

Webroot is fairly priced in my opinion and not only that but you are allowed to have up to 5 devices per each membership. So you could cover your cell phone, labtop, desktop PC and whatever devices under the same membership. It runs smooth and it hardly ever slows up your PC or device while it is running, sometimes it will a little bit when you are scanning with it, but not slow enough to complain about unlike other antiviruses.

Desvantagens:

There are certain options it has that I have been trying to figure out and has been time consuming for example It took me forever to figure out and set up the password manager it offers, but it is something I really needed in my life. It has system optimize and system analyzer with it but it should have more options such as defrag or uninstall apps etc etc.

Desvantagens:

From the time it was installed to the time it was up and running we hadn't had any major issues that would cause any type of concern.

Adds a layer of protection to corporate computers.

Comentários: This will add a layer of protection to your computers at work, however it does not protect you against everything and common practices such as not opening suspicious attachments should still be maintained.

Vantagens:

The software is not very intrusive and just runs in the background. The admin can easily manage all the instances of the software running on other computers.

Desvantagens:

There are some false positive detections at times and adding exclusions to the system is can be a tedious task at times. Pricing for licenses can add up over time, especially as a company grows.

Excellent program at amazing price

Comentários: The problem my customers want to resolve are false positives and a high impact on computer response. With Webroot, customers are no longer required to shut down their AV software to access internal website that do not have security certificates. Additionally, they arne't waiting 10 minutes for a computer to be ready at bootup while the software scans. This software scans in the background with no noticeable impact on performance.

Vantagens:

I love the price of the software. It is easy for me to sell to my clients and easy to promise virtually no impact on their computers processing speed. For those system I have this installed, I have seen a dramatic reduction in malware.

Desvantagens:

It's hard to figure out what I like least about the software. I suppose it would be having to purchase password security.

WEBROOT-100% ONLINE SECURITY SOFTWARE

Comentários: Generally this software is wonderful. It is the best software for web designers, freelancers and online shopkeepers.

Vantagens:

This software is simply great to use! It ensures total security on the web, as well as allowing speed surfing.

Desvantagens:

The charges per subscription per year seems to be a bit high for especially first time users.

Excellent product

Vantagens:

I have used this product for many years - i have found the constant scanning and real time threat removal exceptional. I like the overview diagnostic report it provides also.

Desvantagens:

It has gotten more expensive over the years - but I still think it is a thorough and excellent product

Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered.

Comentários: We have been in the Industry for a long time working successfully with 100's of vendors and I can't remember a time that I ever filed a bad review. I do not take this lightly. Our experience with Webroot has been one of the worst that I have ever experienced. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. You will get nothing but generic responses and reasons why they won't or can't help you. Their product is subpar at best. I would never recommend them and have had a terrible experience from consistently inaccurate bills that you have to follow up on multiple times to get them corrected to an absolutely terrible experience from their management team. I am sure they will respond to this review if given the chance with some generic response that they have tried to assist us and have been in contact with us. I can honestly say, they have done everything to NOT assist us, have been zero help and have offered no value whatsoever.

Vantagens:

I would not be able to list any pros at this time.

Desvantagens:

Cons are everything from customer service to a product that is subpar in the industry.
