Best way to backup

Comentários: Great because I have not to be worried about size of backups. That is the best feature, unlimited backups.

Vantagens:

Automatic backups, and the option to have old version backups.

Desvantagens:

At first I think it was a bit difficult but later I see the opposite.

Relaible Cloud Storage at a fraction of a cost ..

Comentários: I am very much satisfy with the B2 and their support (support team is very prompt as well as knowledgeable) .

Vantagens:

Low cost (Because of their fair uses policy as well as no minimum storage commitment) . Easily configurable with most of the industry leading backup software. Newly added S3 support. Object locking makes it impossible to delete the backup before the retention period.

Desvantagens:

No IAM based bucket distribution like AWS.

While I have changed to a NAS and Cloud Backup from someone else, this is a good cloud option

Comentários: Overall the system was okay to use, but was disappointed when it missed crucial files on occassion.

Vantagens:

I liked how easy it was to implement into my current network structure and was easy to setup end clients for this.

Desvantagens:

I didn't like how it missed some files and was slow for no apparent reason, especially on a fast network. I also found Synology did not officially support backblaze, so changed to a competitor which was supported in the end.

Backblaze Back Up for Nonprofit

Comentários: The biggest problem Backblaze solved was that when we had previously used another company for backing up files (which was a more cloud based system) we lost files when a staff member deleted files thinking our main account was linked to them. When in fact the files were lost because they were the original author. This was a huge loss of time having to rewrite manuals and operating documents. Now when we have a staff member leave we have them condense their files and transfer it to my computer as the Operations Director and I can make sure they are backed up and as needed given to new staff when the time comes. The other benefit is everything runs in the background automatically. Gone are the days when we would plug in a harddrive for back up and were lucky to remember to do it once a month.

Vantagens:

First of all you just can't beat their price for this type of automatic back up system. Most platforms I had researched either had size limits or cost much more. For a small non-profit we were so happy (and able to sleep better at night) knowing if our computer crashed we would be safe and able to keep going.

Desvantagens:

We have had a slight issue w/ backing up our harddrive because we travel to different venues and use that same harddrive for our video footage. We just have to set really good reminders so we don't forget to plug it back in.

Rock Solid Backup

Vantagens:

I love that I can setup Backblaze, run an initial backup, and and trust that Backblaze will take care of the rest. I never have to worry about Backblaze protecting my data, and if there ever is a problem, Backblaze will alert me ASAP.

Desvantagens:

My one complaint about the software is the UI of the Mac desktop client; it looks dated and isn't intuitively organized, and doesn't seem to fit with the other polished parts of the Backblaze platform.

Comentários: For me Backblaze is primarily disaster recovery protection. If my MacBook is lost/stolen/corrupted I know I can get everything back using backblaze. It works well on windows or mac, and allows me to exclude certain folders or file types I don't want backed up which reduces the size of the backup. After the initial backup, incremental backups work well and mean there's not a massive bandwidth requirement. All in, great software that has your back!

Vantagens:

The power of backblaze for personal backup is that it doesn't get in your way. It just sits there in the tray, but it accurately detects file changes and backs these up to the cloud. I have used the recovery process before and it works well.

Desvantagens:

It's not the cheapest, but it does do what it should.

Great, cost-effective option for remote backup

Comentários: I've been using BackBlaze for over 2 years and haven't had any issues with the software, it does a great job notifying me when an employee's machine hasn't been backed up and does a good job of well, backing things up.

Vantagens:

Business licensing allowed me to purchase all the licenses my team needed. The simple invite method works great. This is one of those things you should have but hope you never need

Desvantagens:

Migrating computers really isn't a thing with Backblaze. It'd be nice to have a migrate options available.

Comentários: From my experience, Backblaze delivers what they promise without any hassles. So, that makes me happy.

Vantagens:

I found Backblaze had by far the best pricing structure for data backup. I use their bucket system for my customers and haven't had any problems.

Desvantagens:

I think they still need some additional tools for downloading and interacting with the data but I believe they are always working to make the product better.

I have used Backblaze for over two years and I am VERY happy with it.

Comentários: I am just plain happy. My intention is to renew again and again my yearly subscription with them. The reason I started using this software is that The New York Times uses it as well. If they use it, the software must be fantastic!

Vantagens:

Ease of use. Security. Peace of mind. Everything works in the background. I don't even need to update the software because it does it automatically.

Desvantagens:

I cannot think of anything. They send a regular newsletter, and many of the articles they send are too tricky for me to understand. Maybe if they wrote some of those articles in a more user-friendly language for people like me who are ignorant about IT.

Great storage for the price

Comentários: So far it has been great. I have been able to upload backups using Amazon S3 AWS and then download and perform restores without any issue.

Vantagens:

I love how easy it is to get going. the price per GB seems very good. especially for a smb.

Desvantagens:

There takes a little bit of know how to create backups from other sources like linux (speaking as a newbie to command line programming) but there is help out there with youtube and the support docs.

Reliable Backups that Always Run!

Comentários: This solved the problem, where my business would not be impacted by lost data, when a disaster happens. In my case, hard drives went down a few times. I could still access them online, and later, when adding a new drive, it was very easy to restore. Bottom line? Backblaze is reliable! It's so easy to use and has saved me from losing a lot of important data. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an online backup solution.

The best features of Backblaze are its affordability, ease of use, and... #1 is Reliability. It has saved me from losing important data on several occasions. There's a nice feature to ensure backups are live and ongoing always. Another good feature is the ability to login online and access files (if needed).

Desvantagens:

First, it can be a bit slow to upload large files. Second, the free version only allows for one computer to be backed up. Virtual (storage could) drives are not supported. The very first backup you create can take days - But to be fair... This is a result of how much data you are including in the first backup, and how fast your internet connection is.

It's great to know that you have a backup option if any of you computers lose data!

Comentários: I was looking for a backup solution that suits very large files, like 30GB + game project files. Backblaze had the most competitive features and pricing. The software has been very reliable, I've had it running on a computer for 2 years straight, only turning it off for updates.

Vantagens:

Backblaze is easy to set up, quick to back up, and reliably continues working. The pricing is very competitive. It doesn't throttle your network connections.

Desvantagens:

The software looks a bit outdated, but does what is advertised. I do have concerns that if my computer is offline for 60 days plus, the files won't be retained. It's hard to find this information with clarity for any backup service.

After setting up your preferences, Backblaze runs unobtrusively in the background without any further interactions needed. The affordable pricing structure lets me use one account to back up several computers and easily access backups via the Backblaze website. Recovery is easy to do, fast, and multiple delivery options of your data are offered if you're trying to recover larger quantities than you'd prefer to download.

Desvantagens:

There isn't an archive solution to hold even a day or twos worth of backups. Your backup is only as good as the last state of your computer, so if you accidentally delete something on your machine, you have to be sure to recover it before the next automated backup takes place.

Vantagens:

I love that once the software is enabled, I don't ever have to think about it. It's just there, silently making sure that my work is constantly being backed up to the cloud in case the unthinkable happens and I lose all of my data.

Desvantagens:

I haven't had to actually use it yet, but having explored the restoration process a little bit through the company's website, it seems to be a bit clunky. It would be nice if there were an easier way to pick through the files I need to restore. Would be even better if it could track multiple versions ala Apple's Time Machine (which I also use).

I used this service for many years backing up data of about 2 TB

Vantagens:

It was easy to setup and configure the software. It ran in the background unattended. It was able to dd or remove folders quickly.

Desvantagens:

The one time I needed the software to actually work for a backup it failed. It was not able to retain my existing backup when I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my desktop. I was told I needed to re-upload my entire data-set again.

Great product offerings for backup and file hosting

Vantagens:

The desktop software is the most reliable I've run used, and sits quietly in the background rather than chewing away at resources while doing nothing. The app's interface is quite simple, and makes it easy to set external hard drives for backup or files to ignore. Regarding Backblaze B2, I host files for a website there and the price compared to AWS is very reasonable - an eighth of the price for bandwidth.

Desvantagens:

The Web UI for restoring files is a bit clunky, but thankfully I don't have to interface with it too often :)

Set it and forget it backup

Comentários: I've used it for years, and have no complaints.

Vantagens:

I like the fact that it's always working in the background; and even though i already have cloud backups and disk backups, this is my third backup which makes a truly redundant (and assurance) solution.

Desvantagens:

Sometimes I want to quickly turn it off, i.e. I don't want backups going while I'm rendering or streaming, but it takes so many clicks to get to the on/of scheduling control panel deep inside System settings, that is annoying.

Peace of mind offsite backups

Comentários: It provides great peace of mind knowing I have my important personal and business files backed up without any effort or thought.

Vantagens:

It just trudges along in the background, doing its job securely backing up the files to the cloud. I like that I can have exclusion folders (like Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud) since there's no point to back those up.

Desvantagens:

Not so much a con per se, but I haven't actually tested any of the backups because I haven't needed to.

Serious peace of mind!

How can you go wrong with the idea of your machine being constantly backed up. I don't even realize it's happening, but seeing the reports of your backup is heartwarming. Knowing every computer regardless of platform is backed up is fantastic.

Desvantagens:

I can't think of anything negative to say about Backblaze. The price? Could it be cheaper? I'm sure it could, but it's very affordable.

I near forget I have it because it's so easy to run.

Comentários: My experience had been good. I had no problem getting a pre-sales question answered. Setup only took a few minutes and I love how quietly it runs in the background. You can't beat the prices

Vantagens:

The software runs in the background and never nags me with popups and other notices. I get a notice each month from my credit card settings which reminds me I do have a backup and I should probably check it all being backed up everything. I'm a freelancer and handle a lot of important projects which makes this backup invaluable. The restore seems to be simple so it is a real piece of mind.

Desvantagens:

I think if you are not a technical person and don’t want to back up your full computer then you might need help picking the folder you do want to backup. However, I believe most people want to back up the whole C drive and will have no issue setting this up.

Set and Forget Backup

Vantagens:

I like that once it is setup it works in the background and backs up everything. It gives me piece of mind, and it works well. I feel more confident for mine and other people's data if something should go wrong. I found it really easy to set up, and it has a bunch of options that make sense and allows me to exclude files if I need to.

Desvantagens:

More versioning of files would be good, just to give a bit more redundancy as some files can change a lot in a short period of time.

Dead simple backup that works exactly as it should

Vantagens:

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is so easy to use, and I have it on all of my machines. Setting it up is so easy that I can recommend it to anyone. It finds what needs to be backed up and automatically transfers it in the background. And, best of all, it does not kill your Internet connection when it is transferring.

Desvantagens:

Absolutely nothing at all. Everything from setup to restoring files works intuitively. I've used a TON of backup programs, and Backblaze is just perfect.

Backblaze Business Backup

Comentários: Overall Backblaze provides a quailty service at a fair price.

Vantagens:

Backblaze was incredibly easy to setup. The first backup was running in less than 30 minutes.

Desvantagens:

On our Mac Mini Yosemite server, the backup of our database files was very difficult to integrate into the backblaze backup due to the files location.

Hands off cloud backup

Comentários: I love that Backblaze is my fail-safe if something happens to my physical drives and I don't have to do extra work to maintain it. It's always there if and when I need it.

Vantagens:

I don't have to do anything and I know all my files on internal and external drives are backed up off-site for peace of mind for me and my clients.

Desvantagens:

It is hard to tell exactly what is currently backed up at any given time when the continuous backup feature is on and using multiple external drives.
