Comentários: I have not had a single issue with Clio. I have used it now for three years. My bills look sharp and the time/activity record keeping is flawless, which helps when I have to push to get paid. The trust accounting is redundant and airtight. I am looking forward to developing my practice and I know that Clio is expanding its range of functions at a rate faster than any of my needs. Clio is leading the industry in coordinating with third party vendors (Lawpay, Outlook etc) to make Clio even more functional and efficient.

Vantagens: There is much to like about Clio. Their customer support is first rate and comprehensive. For example, learning to manage trust accounting and the creation of regular client invoices are critical and time sensitive activities. During my first year with Clio, I would call customer service at the end of each month as I encountered small mistakes I made in billing or accounting. Clio was always there willing to patiently walk me through my steps to help me fix my errors. The billing and accounting features are redundant and it is almost impossible to make a mistake that cannot be fixed. Time entry is simple and efficient.

Desvantagens: I love the ease of use with respect to creating bills and managing trust accounting. On a different level, I have confidence that Clio is on the cutting edge of technology and software developments. As is evidenced by their annual conference, Clio is a leader in the industry. My investment in time learning this platform will continue to pay dividends as I mature as a solo practitioner. I am a veteran litigator but I recently opened my own practice. Clio has been the one indispensable tool to my new practice.

Comentários: Right from the outset I have found the support at Clio to be fantastically helpful. It's a big decision working out which product is right for your particular business. Clio, as you expect from most companies in the beginning, were great at informing us what Clio could do and answering our initial questions. However, what I am really impressed about it the continued support from Clio. It does not matter who you speak to, they are friendly, knowledgeable and will do all they can to help you. And if they don't know, which is rare, they will find out and get back to you. And they do get back to you! Plus every phone call is followed up with an email. With regard to the product itself, it is pretty easy to use. Most things are quite logical and therefore you can work it out fairly simply. I am of the view that no product is perfect as every business will have different requirements. In the case of Clio, there are a few very minor things we would like to see available. Clio are continuously developing and improving the product and, I think, everything we have enquired about that is not already a function of Clio, is in the pipeline. However, it is still great for us as it is but we always strive for perfection!

Vantagens: I love the simplicity and flexibility of Clio. It is very user friendly and the way it looks is very neat. It does not take long to work out exactly what you are looking at and what it all means. For me personally, I do a lot of billing and compared with a previous software package, Clio has saved me a lot of time and it's really easy to keep track of where you are as it automatically incorporates a workflow. Also, setting up new cases is easy and flexible. You are easily able to incorporate your own requirements and information.

Desvantagens: This is quite specific but for us, the biggest drawback is not being able to present the invoice in exactly the way we want (i.e. a front cover summary of figures without the time description wording). There is a lot of flexibility on the invoices which is great but the one thing we can't do is take the wording away from the first page. Our company like to keep the first page of the invoice very simple and clear and then have the narrative on the following pages. We understand, however, that this is being developed by Clio and should be rolled out some time in the next couple of months or so.

Comentários: I have had excellent experience with this software and constantly recommend it to others, especially solo practitioners because I believe it gives a small office the same abilities of time and matter tracking that much larger firms have always enjoyed.

Vantagens: This software has made managing my solo practice a breeze. I love that I can track client bills and trust balances at a glance and can set and track goals for myself with billable time. The note-taking and correspondence tracking functions are essential with divorce clients who often claim they did not receive information; the program can track what documents were exchanged or accessed. The invoicing is simple and pairing billing with LawPay makes it easy to get paid online via credit card. Addition of payment plans has also been a boon.

Desvantagens: I wish that the software had an accounting function, but it does work seamlessly with Xero, my accounting software. I also would change some minor details like adding more user-controlled functions to the reporting capabilities; for instance, I would like to be able to customize exactly what data my reports generate (such as trust ledger reports that included the last action on an individual account).

Comentários: Excellent! My assistant works 300 miles from me in a different location out of her house. We are able to function well as a result of the ease of use of this software.

Vantagens: I have a small firm, with a lot of documents. Being able to upload everything and have it at my fingertips, whether on my computer, or phone, is invaluable. Also, I can work from anywhere. I am not tied to a specific computer where the software must be installed; everything is from the browser. Also, the functionality of being able to make the software categories, front page, etc., match whatever firm/law you want is great! Also the people at Clio listen and make software changes based on customer reviews.

Desvantagens: Few complaints about the software. Would like the Edit button for the matter to be either left or right (have a choice.) When I split a screen on a laptop, I have to scroll over to edit. Also, when uploading files, having the boxes shift up sooner would be helpful, so you can see the auto-populate.

Clio is good if you can use all the features

Comentários: I wanted to learn to use all the features of the software. I tried to use the features such as working with Clio and MS Office, and I had a hard time using and coordinating everything. I used Clio for about 4 years, I took the Clio classes that made me a Certified Clio User or whatever, to no avail. I went to two of their conferences and even hired someone to help me coordinate the Clio functions like the client portal. After spending a lot of time and money, I decided that paying so much per month to keep a calendar and a list of clients was too much money. About a year ago I started using a spreadsheet and my calendar to coordinate my hearings, etc, and it has been working well. I am looking to use another software simply because I am working with a partner, but I would keep using my spreadsheet and calendar if I were continuing to practice solo. In short, Clio is good if you can make all the bells and whistles work for you. I am looking to use a software that gives me the basics and charges accordingly.

Vantagens: Very intuitive. The calendar and tasks are easy to use.

Desvantagens: The sync with Microsoft contacts and the features that it offers were very difficult to sync and use.

Vantagens: Clio has made it clear they are the leader in case management software for the cloud. Your calendar can sync with Google Calendar making it easy to use with Smart Home Devices like Alexa and Google Home. I can tell my smart home device to tell me what I have on my calendar, and what I put in clio will be there. Also, the integrations with Zapier making automation easy. Now when I get an appointment from the court (calendar setting), it automatically is added to Clio. The new Desktop launcher for forms. I can edit forms in Word and they go right back to Clio, amazing. Customer support is head and shoulders above any other company. I have had a few questions on how to do things, and have never experienced anything but helpful and kind people.

Desvantagens: I wish you were able to change the first page that you see when signing on. Sometimes you may need to open clio in court, or while meeting with a client and you may not want all of your settings, etc. to show. Having just a page that opens when you sign in with little to no information would be great.

Comentários: I work in a Law office, we have three office and we use CLIO to maintain syncronizaced all our case, documents, contacts and calendars. It's an excellent option, I really like and It's very helpful to organize our jobs. I recomend CLIO 100 %.

Vantagens: We can share information in an easy way with your team, you can take a good control about all your case, your contacts and his documents, we can create a task, assign a task to other persons, even you can maintain connections with your client using CLIO. Also you can access to CLIO using an app or online, CLIO have a calendar to control your appointment. In facts, in my opinion CLIO have almost everythink what we need in a Law office. I have never tried an accounting/billiable section.

Desvantagens: I like the new version but the search option it's not working very good, and in a version online when you want open something always open in a new tab, so, in few minutes you can open 10 o more tabs in the same contact or case.

Comentários: Overall Clio was easy to install, easy to set up, easy to input firm and client information into, and easy to operate and manage on a daily basis.

Vantagens: I am a solo, limiting my practice to construction law with about a 50-50 mix of litigation and "outside general counsel" for long-term clients. I no longer maintain an office or staff, so a simple but comprehensive case management program is a necessity. Clio Basic handles what I need, especially the ability to digitally file all emails and documents associated with a case. The timekeeping and billing functions work well for me now that all of my clients are using Clio Connect for me to deliver my bills to them.

Desvantagens: I think the user interface for entering client payments is poorly laid out and not very intuitive. I wish Clio would let me apply payments to interest, costs or fees; so that I could decide where I want to write off balances owed.

Couldn't function without my Clio!

Comentários: Honestly, I love Clio. I have worked in the legal field for many years, on many software systems and by far Clio is the best. it simplifies my time keeping (Paralegal) and my invoicing (Biller) duties. I am awaiting the release of the CRM module with baited breath!

Vantagens: It assists me in all of my client matters on a daily basis. I love the shortcuts and the ease of use. Clio is consistently updating the software and making my job easier!

Desvantagens: Sometimes redundant in areas that I have to go out of and back to over and over. I filter the client list to clean it out and after each deletion have to go back to the beginning and filter again and go through 4800 records to get where I just was. Also, I would like to give view only permissions to some of the staff, but this is not an option.

Comentários: We were early adopters and are very pleased overall. It does most evertything we want, and probably would do aa lot more if there was better training and support.

Vantagens: Easy of use, large variety of options, unlimited storage, easy sharing, strorng calendar, purpose built for small and medium firms

Desvantagens: Subscription based, the mobile GUI is not great, needs better customer support, wish it was based in the US.

Highly motived to get this to work... but it is a nightmare.

Comentários: Clio has tremendous potential. Their support and sales staff are extremely nice people and I feel terrible writing such a poor review of their product. I am concerned that Clio's development staff lacks experience with developing a robust financial accounting system. I feel the current system has been developed by a bunch of very smart people who have never actually run or operated a business. So many of these glitches are just basic. Previous to attempting to use Clio my firm used Quickbooks Online, Google Apps and Google Drive with an internally developed call management system. It worked well for us but the Clio interface was just beautiful! We are paying about a month now for Clio and I regretfully feel I have made a major mistake with this system. My CPA, however, is quite happy with all the new billables cleaning up the mess this system has caused me.

Vantagens: Thought was put into the billing and time capture capabilities of the software. Great implementation with Google Drive and the advertising tracking is a brilliant idea. Actually, the entire software package is well designed and has tremendous potential. But...

Desvantagens: But the implementation of all this is not good. The click flow of the user interface is very cumbersome. Basic tasks require far too many user interactions and it is not streamlined. Reporting is basic and requires .CSV dumps of data to recover meaningful information such as a summary of collections in a month for all staff broken down by time keepers. The Quickbooks implementation is a disaster. Trust Account sync creates a journal entry for each debit/credit to your trust bank account whenever you add funds to trust or use trust account to pay a bill. This is all well and good except that in Quickbooks, journal entries are a separate line in the ledger. That results in two lines in the ledger for each transaction. My firm deposits thousands of dollars into our trust account daily and this quickly generates a maze of transactions in our accounts. Where this is more problematic when we do batch deposits because well we don't have just one client a day. So now when I need to reconcile my accounts I need to then go sum up all journal entries and ensure the accounting is correct. Even worse is when writing a disbursement from Trust it seems that the same journal entry process is used to create the draft. The problem is that I cannot print a journal entry from Quickbooks, so we need to hand write the check. Support tells me the work around for this is to deactivate the sync feature and enter the check in Quickbooks manually.

Comentários: I work with a high level of leads and lexicata is the best use of follow-up leads while acquiring form data and even creating a fee agreement for digital online signing. Once I accept the client, everything migrates easily to ClIo And I have verified that the data does move over. Additionally lexicata allows you to continually add data to their software which will then be transmitted once again Be careful not to override previous data. Sorry to talk about the two but I suggest you use both of them together for your own sanity as an attorney.

Vantagens: After being in practice over 40 years, I have often dreamt about having a system that would compile all the necessary data needed to work on the case and bill for it. This program does the as well as Suggesting lexicata which has been a real dream for tracking cases prior to acceptance.

Desvantagens: There is nothing I do not like. I think the user has to make a commitment to ongoing learning because there is so much available. The best way to do that is to devote the first 10 minutes of every day to learning something new.

Clio is a great way to manage your legal practice!

Comentários: I am very pleased with Clio and what it has done for our office. Like I mentioned above, Clio has stream lined our workflow in our office to ensure better use of time and retention of documentation.

Vantagens: I like the functionality of Clio, it is easy to use and offers a great customer service for those times where I am unfamiliar on how to use a specific function. It has streamlined our workflow in our office to ensure better use of time and retention of documentation.

Desvantagens: The one item that I like the least about Clio would have to be the syncing with Outlook. I believe the link is currently broken and being repaired but it seems to be a continuous problem with Clio.

Vantagens: Aside form being user friendly, Clio integrates with LawPay and FastCase, these are features that set it apart from other software. The customer service is outstanding, and who ever says that about customer service? I use the app to schedule my life, it may be the most used app on my phones. Bonus: I just called today and I'm getting a 10% discount for being a member of the ABA!

Desvantagens: It would be nice if the trust account can be treated separately so that we can show a breakdown of what was spent from the trust in the same invoice as the bill. This would make Clio perfect.

Clio is an excellent tool for any type of lawfirms!!

Comentários: Overall, I believe this is a great software to work with. It's easy, fast and rarely get any glitches.

Vantagens: What I like most about Clio is the ease of use. It is not so complicated and it's pretty explanatory. It helps keeping you and other's (attorney's and client's) organized.

Desvantagens: What I dislike in Clio is the payment process. I'm not too familiar with this process as I don't do them often, but when I attempt a payment, it can be a bit confusing. Either way, I believe they just recently launched a self pay, where clients can make payments using an application which can be very beneficial especially if client is only available after hours.

Comentários: Overall 100% pleased, and customer service is great and response time is excellent. I also like the the team members for Clio are REAL PEOPLE who know their stuff.

Vantagens: This product changed the way we do business. What I like most is how this software changes with the changing needs of law.

Desvantagens: I think there are too many variations in the plans. I would appreciate one pricepoint and features for all to experience the same product. I also think the option should exist for one to not have to apply to all. (if one changes plans, each member has to upgrade as well.)

Comentários: Clio's on-line customer support and help files are very easy to use and search. The online chat option helps you get started and with every problem they can hold your hand through the program if necessary.

Vantagens: Use of the program is intuitive, it integrates client information, billing, time keeping, and task management. By keeping track of what is really being done you can see the large amounts of time not being accounted for, which says be more diligent. Frankly Idid not want to go this Route, being a sole practitioner for 30+ years but my 20 something partner said "We really need to do this" and he was right.

Desvantagens: From the stand point of our office paper flow there is a small disconnect between a bill in the system being in a status of pending payment and proof that it was actually mailed.

Comentários: I've used Clio since 2011. The team has been incredibly supportive and helpful. The product is great, mainly because the company has such a great relationship with users. I can't imagine how much time and money I've saved because of Clio. It's a lot. A whole, whole lot.

Vantagens: The support. Clio always responds proactively and with a friendly approach.

Desvantagens: Because Clio is so responsive to users, they tend to add too many features for someone with little time sort out best practices.

Nothing falls through the cracks when you use the communications, documents, and tasks tabs!

Comentários: Clio's ease of use and ability to keep everything related to a case in one place makes it easy to keep track of complete and incomplete tasks. When there are multiple users working on a case, having the ability to post e-mail history helps understand where the case is heading and pinpoint issues that need immediate attention. I love this program!

Vantagens: The communications, documents, and tasks tabs are very useful in assuring nothing falls through the cracks! Meeting deadlines is one of the most important things in our line of work because missing a deadline can result in losing a case and a client!

Desvantagens: It doesn't save e-mails in time order (only date order) and is unable to distinguish when an identical e-mail has been previously posted by another user working on the same matter.

Comentários: Perfect setup to immediately have a unitary infrastructure around your practice that takes the top-level concerns into context.

Vantagens: It had everything included- finance, scheduling, research, document storage, etc. It was the perfect legal CRM package, that had everything else you needed altogether. Different practices may not find as much use, or may need special tools, but for a simple small general practice office or a specific in-house legal unit this software has everything you need included.

Desvantagens: Lots of updates, so lots of slowdowns. The accounting feature is nice, and I like the trust account management, but you still end up needing a separate accounting package if you intend on filing on your own.

Comentários: It used to be good and now I'm sour. I'm looking for a new application. One that hopefully is not subscription based. Totally over the excessive fees and ridiculous price increases.

Vantagens: It used to be relatively easy to use and affordable.

Desvantagens: The "New Clio" is a disaster. It's like going back in time with crowded screens and an information layout that is not intuitive. Also, they dramatically raised the price of the application and then over billed me. Now I'm waiting a week or more to find out I'm going to get money back. Did they forget that their customers are lawyers?

Comentários: This software is a cost effective, easy way to bill, clients to pay and legal staff to track their billable time. Overall, this is great software!

Vantagens: There are so many great features in this software. I love that it integrates with Outlook, that matters are easily linked, clients easily make payments and I love, love, love that there is live chat and for instant support.

Desvantagens: From time to time the software will get jammed up but it happens maybe once or twice a month and, if it does, it is fixed within ten minutes or so.

Comentários: I use Clio mainly to keep track of my client financial data: Time and Billing entries, Deposits into and withdrawals from the client's account. This is the easiest to use software I have ever used.

Vantagens: The ease of use. When I input data, e.g. a customer payment, or time entry on a matter, it updates in all the relevant places. When I make a mistake it is easy to back out of the mistake. When I call customer service they usually answer my question or solve my issue in a few minutes

Desvantagens: I don't have any issues with this software.

Comentários: We swapped from a server-based application to Clio approximately one year ago, and have never looked back.

Vantagens: Clio is easy to learn, easy to set up for the firm - and easy for clients access to matter details, sharing etc. With an app, the software is tailored to use On the Move (Oscar-Mike), as we can add time and expenses while waiting for the train or plane.

Desvantagens: We offer legal services in Norway. For our clients, Norwegian is the preferred language. The software lacks the possibility to tailor cover mails etc in Norwegian. Also, we have asked reps. for an app for client-side communication. Now, they need a browser to log on to the Clio portal.

Comentários: Clio is a valuable system with great support. They have listed to customers like me over the years and greatly improved an already excellent system.

Vantagens: The billing system is really great, and the customer support is excellent.

Desvantagens: The tasks part of the system shows just enough promise to be somewhat useful, but is lacking some final touches which make tasks very frustrating sometimes.
The calendar irregularly syncs with Google Calendar and sometimes changes times, which is problematic for court hearings.
